In response to the above comment: (As the author of the piece), I agree that the questions are formulated often as „leading questions“, which is why I changed their formulations in the English version on my blog : ami-go-home.tumblr.com. About your example of demonstrations, for instance, I don’t think the solution is to NOT do demonstrations which create dangers for illegalized people, trans people, etc. I think the solution is to work with those communities to first understand the specific risks they face, then to develop together strategies to ensure safety for more people at demonstrations. The questions are not meant as reductive dead ends — aka „this list of things imply structural racism, therefore white folks should stop doing them“ — but rather asking people to take stock of how their approaches reproduce racialized/xenophobic exclusions and see where they can shift, transform, change, and open their approaches, being creative and thinking outside the box.

Der Text hört da auf, wo er beginnen sollte, denn die Liste mit implizit formulierten Forderungen verrät doch einiges. Keine Demos mehr, bei der es zu Überwachung oder Polizeiübergriffen kommen kann? Wie soll für so etwas garantiert werden? Und warum überhaupt? Weil es zu „hart“ ist und darum Frauen, Schwarze etc. potenziell ausschließt? Wie soll sozialer Wandel aussehen und organisiert werden, wenn vermieden werden muss, dass er negative Reaktionen von mächtigen Institutionen hervorrufen könnte? Und – warum wird Frauen, Schwarzen etc. nicht zugetraut, in Konfliktsituationen zu sein? Sollen sich im Falle eines Polizeiübergriffs die weißdeutschen Männer schützend vor die Marginalisierten stellen? Solche absurden Positionen ließen sich aus dem Text ableiten!
